Katie & Mike | Villa Penna | Winter Michigan Wedding

01

Apr

There are so many amazing things to say about Katie and Mike. From the first time I met Katie along with her sister I knew her wedding day was going to be something special. We sat over coffee as she told me her wedding day vision and she sure did make it a reality! The flowers were not only stunning but had unique touches to them that made them more personal. This goes for the rest of the wedding day decor! The timeless winter wedding was absolutely perfect.

Katie and Mike’s day had so many special moments. The thoughtful cufflinks she gifted both her Dad and Mike. To the “cops love donuts” donut board and including their respective hats. Which yes, both of these fantastic humans are in law enforcement.. so a MASSIVE thank you for your service, espescially during this crazy time. We would be nowhere without selfless and beautiful souls like yours! So, as you can imagine there were quite a few other guests in attendance who are also in law enforcement and it made for quite the show.

From Mike’s best man literally handcuffing them as they were being announced to the elaborate best man speech which included MANY other state troopers participating in a joke which involved returning “some of Katie’s house keys” – it was quite funny if I do say so myself. Then to top it off a few more state troopers and DNR swung on by after the ceremony to congratulate the newly weds and take a few photos! So many moments to remember. Also, I have to throw in there that Sam had a hysterical and heartwarming maid of honor speech. It’s not always I remember the speeches as vividly as theirs – so kudos to you both!

Now, if you don’t think all of that already contributed to some super special and memorable moments there were some of the most emotional and heartfelt moments…ever! I mean I cried with them during their first look and that NEVER happens for me. The love and bond that both Mike and Katie share for each other is beyond words. Plus their families are incredible and close, which is so precious! I could sit here forever trying to come up with something that compares but it just wouldn’t do the true justice. My biggest advice to my couples is to not hold back emotions because people are watching or fear of messing up your makeup. It can be fixed but you don’t want to hold back on how you’re really feeling. Let it out and I promise the photos will be irreplaceable. I hope that is what these photos will do for both of you!

Congratulation once again to the new Mr. & Mrs. Baker – you have a phenomenal last name by the way 😉 I hope you love these photos and are enjoying the married life!
